Around 400,000 people worked, lived, and went to school in downtown NYC when the twin towers collapsed. in 2001. The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act created the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP) to provide free medical treatment and medical monitoring services for those who had incurred 9/11 toxic exposure.
